Beauty Trend: Side Braid

They can be worn with any look, and have been seen on both the runways and red carpets.

However, every trend must come to an end – or at least transcend into something new.

Say goodbye to the tight, little braid this season, and hello to the oversized, side braid.

This look is definitely for those with longer hair styles, and is a great way to keep those long locks off your neck in the sweltering heat.

Even better, it’s been styled with the most couture gowns on the red carpet, and is an easy way to create a soft evening look.

Mui Mui added extensions to this Rapunzel side braid paired with doll like eyelashes (left).

A messy side braid with wispy hairs that frame the face takes sportswear to a new designer level at D Squared (left).  A long, sexy side braid at Alexander Wang showed off the fabulous collection and flawless faces at Alexander Wang (right).

So if you have the length, or can buy it in the form of extensions, try a side braid for both a day and night look this summer. It’s probably the easiest and most flattering hair style we’ve seen this season, and like all trends, it won’t last long.
