Beauty Trend: Copper Shadow

Gorgeous metallics are not just for accessories anymore. Shiny eyeshadow shades have been a beauty trend at all the major designer shows this year.

Copper eye shadow has been popping up on both spring and fall runways for 2010, and is an easy way to look modern and sexy in a pinch.

It’s a beautiful look for tanned, summer skin with a bare face and neutral lip, but also works as a smoky look if you’re rocking pale skin, minus the bronzer.

A seventies disco revival? Well, kind of, but it’s applied in a more subdued manner that looks 2010 appropriate.

Pair it with black liner, or dab a little color under the bottom lash for a quick hint of seductive color.

Check out the following looks straight off the runway for application ideas.

A clean face, tanned skin, and messy ponytail keep this copper beauty look daytime chic at Brian Reyes (left).  No liner and heavy copper shadow with a pale face give this hipster model at Alexander Wang a colorful edge (right).

You can mix silver and gold tones together. Fair skin, with even fairer blonde hair, show off the contrast of both colors at Alexandre Herchcovitch (left).  Disco Diva! Big hair, metallic, slinky clothes and shimmery eyes at Ports 1961 are retro fabulous (right).

So go big and retro, or try a little splash of color for a pretty contrast.  With so many options you are bound to find a copper look that works for you.
