MAC Cosmetics: New Products for Fall 2010

Although M.A.C may have pulled the plug on their special edition Rodarte collection, which was slated to launch in September, iinspired by a road trip that the Rodarte designers took through Texas (the names that were picked for some of the collection’s products – including "Juarez," "Ghost Town," and "Factory" – inspired a good share of controversy), there are a slew of other bold colored products we can look forward to.

The teaming of M·A·C and Lady Gaga has already resulted in a number of exciting developments, including Dare to Wear and Digi Dazzle, which both just launched and will be available through September.

In keeping with Gaga’s image, Dare to Wear consists of a range of intense, high-shine, very saturated lipglass and pop eye shadow shades. As for Digi Dazzle, the line consist of 13 new lipstick shades, which, combined with Dare to Wear, will have you well on your way in re-creating a signature Gaga look.

Continuing on with Lady Gaga, the singer joins Cyndi Lauper as the latest voice behind M∙A∙C’s new “FromOur Lips” campaign, designed to speak to the challenges women face as the fastest new group affected by HIV/AIDS around the world. The M·A·C AIDS Fund was established in 1994 to support men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. Viva Glam I, II, III, IV, V, and VI were launched as continuous shades, and have achieved tremendous success over the years. Fall 2010 sees two new Lipglass shades, introduced by the two bold superstars for a limited six months on counter beginning in September.

Lastly, for those keeping abreast of the most cutting edge trends in nail shades, for the Fall/Winter 2010 M.A.C. collection nail guru Jin Soon created a slew of covetable shades inspired by the “sensual pleasures of the Forbidden City.  Colors were taken from the sculptures, tiles, architecture, fabrics, and decorative papers of Imperial China.”

Shades include orange, blue, taupe, green, and purple, and all of the hues are opaque and rich with pearl essences for a subtle dimension. Expect to see a number of these shades make their way down the runways in September.
