Hair Stylist Luca Blandi: A tFS Exclusive

Luca Blandi

Luca Blandi comes from a family of hair stylists, thus you can say it's in his blood. Perhaps, it was even predestined? His brother is famed hair stylist and product developer, Oscar Blandi, and Luca is one of the star stylists at Oscar's New York Salon as well as being an educator for the Oscar Blandi product line. But when it comes to Luca's work, it's all his own. He has covered many red carpets, magazines and fashion shows and counts such leading ladies as Catharine Zeta Jones, Robin Wright, Rosario Dawson, Holly Hunter, Laura Linney, and Katie Holmes as clients.

I asked Luca my 3 favorite beauty related questions. Here are his answers.

INDUSTRY BREAK: I started doing hair at the age of 13 in my father’s salon in Italy. I went to school in the morning and did hair in the afternoon after my homework!  My PASSION for hair came to me when I started doing fashion shows at the age of 17 in Europe and has progressed into a career that I love.

5 MOST COVETED PRODUCTS:

1 – L'Oreal Elnett Hair Spray because it has a great hold and it doesn’t make the hair feel like glue.

2 – Oscar Blandi Pronto DRY SHAMPOO because it cleans the hair quickly, removing oil, grease and build up, giving a great texture that I love.

3 – Jasmine Oil because it's a light oil that removes flyaways and gives unbelievable shine.

4 – L'Oreal Mousse because it gives me great control of the hair and helps to give any shape I want.

5 – Oscar Blandi NO GRAVITY because I love how it closes the cuticle of the hair, and, by far, it's the best volumizing product on the market.

FAVORITE LOOK YOU'VE CREATED: My favorite look lately is the short cut that I give Robin Wright because it's young and messy, but still with a touch of chicness. It's not just about making messy hair – it has to flow and be easy for the client to reproduce that same look at home.
