Makeup Artist Stephanie Flor: A tFS Exclusive

All great makeup artists have to start somewhere. Stephanie Flor‘s career started as a dream to tend to the faces of cover talent in magazine’s like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. While her career is just taking off, she’s worked on film sets, fashion shows, editorial shoots, and with celebrities like Kathy Griffin, Kendra Wilkinson, B52’s, and Eliza Dushku. Stephanie is definitely on the industry’s “one to watch” list and one of the new generation of makeup talent.

I was excited to ask Stephanie my 3 favorite beauty questions. Here are her answers.

INDUSTRY BREAK: I learned at a young age to surround myself with those who I find inspiring, so I started assisting and worked my way up. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of today’s best and I’m so grateful for all the things they continue to teach me. Crystal Wright an author of the “Makeup Hair and Styling Career Guide” gave me my first opportunities and guided me to always work 100% and that goes a long way, especially since the industry is small.

5 MOST COVETED PRODUCTS:

Vaseline – you can use it to create dewy skin, a lip stain by mixing it with your favorite lipstick, and also cure chapped lips.

Makeup Forever’s HD Foundation – It’s a liquid foundation that leaves the skin radiant and is oil-free. I can create a perfect base from light to full coverage.

Mally Roncals Get Cheeky Dewy Blush in Dawn – This is my DREAM Product. I use this for a natural flush all over the face. I use it on the eyes, lips and cheeks. It’s the perfect product for natural beautiful makeup.

Dior Brow Pencil – This brow pencil is universal for all skin tones. It’s the perfect brown and frames the face by adding depth to the brow, and also drawing on perfect arches.

NARS Eye shadows – I love Nars eye shadows. They are always pigmented, and last longer than any other eye shadows. I can wet them and use as an eyeliner, or just go in with a brush lightly and create everything from smoky to light makeup looks.

FAVORITE LOOK YOU’VE CREATED: A favorite image of mine is actually one of my first photo shoots. It happened so organically. The model inspired me, and this is before anyone told me that crazy makeup wouldn’t work in my book. I had so much fun doing this shoot, and I feel a good picture lasts forever, and I think this one truly is a classic.
