Ashley Greene: Beauty Look of the Week

Who: Ashley Greene

Where: The Cinema Society & DKNY screening of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1

Why we like it: When celebrities wear monochromatic looks, they often choose to wear outrageous or bright beauty looks to pump up the overall look. It’s refreshing to see a sleek gunmetal eye and nude lip paired with a black and white dress.

How to get it at home: Start by applying a foundation that gives even coverage such as By Terry’s Cover Expert $65 which goes on with a velvety smooth finish and blends flawlessly into the skin. Cover any areas of pigmentation or blemishes with concealer and finish your base with Laura Mercier’s Loose Setting Powder $34 to ensure a matte finish. Fill in and define your brows using Anastasia’s Brow Powder Duo $22 to get full but natural looking brows.

Using a small brush, take Shiseido’s Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Tin $25 and outline the wing that you’re looking to get. A good rule is to take a small brush and line up your nose with the outer corner of your eye and it should reach the end of your eyebrow. That shape is, proportionally, the perfect wing shape for you. Once you’re happy with the shape, fill it in using the same cream shadow. Run a small amount of the shadow across your lower lash line, then blend Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow in Polyester Bride $17 to get a lighter silver across the bottom. For added definition take Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner $21 and blend it across the upper lash line. Remember that applying liquid or gel eyeliner is always easier if you do it with your eyes open. Pulling the skin around your eye will only result in an uneven line. Finish your eyes with your favorite volumizing mascara. Lastly, apply a nude lipstick or lip gloss such as Dior’s Lip Maximizer in Apricot $30.
