Kristen Bell: Beauty Look of the Week

Who: Kristen Bell

Where: The Opening of Topshop in Las Vegas

Why we like it: As spring slowly emerges, it’s the perfect opportunity to play with bright colors and sheer coverage foundation. This lip is not only bold and bright but also feminine and more understated than a standard red or pink. That, paired with her luminous skin, made for a fresh, youthful look.

How to get it at home: This look is really low maintenance and easy to get at home. Start with a dewy finish foundation or tinted moisturizer, such as Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 – Illuminating $42, which will give you a glowing even base. Next, fill in your brows with a powder, not a pencil, for a softer finish. A set with multiple colors, such as Anastasia’s Brow Powder Duo $22, will allow you to get a natural color with realistic dimension. Take a soft pink or cream shadow such as Bare Escentuals’ bareMinerals Eyecolor in Vanilla Sugar $13, and apply it all across the lid. Using a blending brush, apply a light brown shadow such as Make Up For Ever’s Eyeshadow in Cafe Latte 164 $19 to the outer corner and under the lash line. If you want a hard finish, apply a thin line of cake liner, such as Illamasqua’s Eyeliner Cake $23 on the upper lashline and outer corner but for a daytime alternative, simply use a bit more of the shadow to create a deeper shadow.

Coat your lashes in Buxom’s Lash Mascara $19 and apply 4 or 5 individual lashes, such as Make Up For Ever’s Eyelashes – Individual $15, or cut strip lashes in half and apply them to the outer corners. You can leave your cheeks bare with this look or apply a small amount of cream blush such as Topshop’s Blush in Flush $12 to the apples of your cheeks. Finish off your look with a swipe of Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Lipstick in 27 Rose Paris $34.
