Ellery, Gary Bigeni, and Romance Was Born Make High Fashion for Your Fingertips

How would you like to own a piece of new season Ellery for around the price of a takeaway curry? Well, soon you’ll be able to thanks to a collaboration between ASOS, Nail Rock, and three of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia’s most eagerly-anticipated designers. Romance Was Born and Gary Bigeni will be joining Ellery in creating exclusive nail prints to debut on their Spring/Summer 2012/13 catwalks, which will then be available at ASOS in May.

Nail Rock has given some serious competition to current collaboration king H&M, with Brit designer Meadham Kirchhoff’s enderingly tacky nail wraps for Spring 2012 (right) proving so popular that they went on to be sold in Topshop. Other designers to have put high fashion at our fingertips include Prabal Gurung with his flowery Spring 2012 nail strips for Sally Hansen, while Thakoon and Betsey Johnson recently developed traditional liquid polishes in bold colours for NARS and Sephora respectively.

The nail wraps debuting on the MBFWA catwalks next week will be a literal extension of the designers’ individual aesthetics. Ellery’s will be “romantic with an edge”, Gary Bigeni will showcase his signature soft geometry and Romance Was Born will be giving Meadham Kirchhoff’s kitschy cartoons a run for their money with graphic prints to stand up to their bold Marvel Comics-inspired collection

Start exercising your index finger now because the Internet will be going crazy insane for these come May. And the best part? You’ll take the same size as the runway models.
