Get Olivia Wilde’s Striking Smoky Eye at Home

Who: Olivia Wilde

WhereThe Late Show with David Letterman

Why we like it: One of the best elements of Olivia Wilde’s beauty choices is that, while she often surprises us, the looks aren’t classically attention-seeking. This makes them perfect to recreate at home, or test out for a date night, because they’re wearable. We love the subtle blue tones in her smoky eye which balances perfectly with her nude lip and flawless skin.

How to get it at home: Start with a foundation that will even and perfect your skin, such as Lancome’s Teint Visionnaire Skin Correcting Makeup Duo ($60), which features a spot correcting concealer. Then warm your cheeks with a subtle blush, such as YSL’s Radiant Blush in 10 ($45) which you can use to highlight the cheekbone at the same time.

Next, define your brows using Shiseido’s Eyebrow Styling Compact ($30) which featured two complementary shades allowing for multi-tonal, natural-looking brows. The key feature of this look is obviously the eyes, but looks such as this can be tricky to get because they often require far too many products. We love Sephora’s Microsmooth Eyeshadow Trio in Blue Lagoon ($19) because it features all of the colors you need for this look with a price tag that is justifiable even if you only wear it on special occasions. Be sure to concentrate the darker shade along the lash line and outer half and the frosted highlight tone in the inner corner.

Top off your eyes with a boosting mascara, such as Marc Jacobs’ Beauty Lash Lifter – Gel Volume Mascara ($26). Lastly, we love Olivia’s pale pink nude lip because it highlights the feature without overwhelming the look. Get a similar color with Urban Decay’s Revolution Lipstick in Native ($22)
