Gina Guerica, Oscar Blandi’s brand ambassador and director of product development weighs in on how to get the look from some of the hottest Fashion Week runways.
Mattified medieval braids are all the rage for Giles this season. Apply Hair Lift Mousse to Dry Hair and diffuse until product is dry. Rake Dry Teasing Dust throughout roots and ends for a gritty effect. Lift hairline 90 degrees from scalp with a comb and spray Lacca Hairspray to hold. Sweep hair to the side and tightly weave into a braid. Secure with elastic and loosen loops for a puffed effect. Slick back the sides with Dry Sculpting Pomade to finish.
This season showed mermaid chic hair for Herve Leger. The sleek style is a great way to balance out the iconic bodycon silhouettes synonymous with the designer. To achieve this look, completely saturate wet hair with a combination of mousse and pomade. Sweep hair back on the top and sides and secure with roller clips. Diffuse hair until it’s completely dry and remove clips and spray Dry Conditioner Spray for added luminosity. Finish with hairspray for hold
This bleached-out surfer girl hair was achieved by razoring bowl cuts for an intentional disheveled effect. To separate ends for a choppy look, define with Dry Sculpting Pomade.
Organic, natural waves with a middle part were seen at Kane's show. This undone style does not require hair products or styling tools. If hair is naturally curly, straighten and then lightly mist with water and tousle with your fingers. If hair is naturally straight, lightly mist with water and diffuse for added movement.

The hair for this collection is a very relaxed, untouched and wet texture. To achieve this look, drench hair from roots to ends with a combination of pomade and mousse. Rough dry with a diffuser while keeping the hair close to the head. Sweep the front section across the forehead and secure by pinning. Divide the length into two sections, secure into a loose knot or two depending on your length. Apply this runway look into everyday by opening up and softening the finished look for a looser effect.
Eighties bangs are back! This asymmetrical side-swept look has two opposing sides, a swept bouffant bang on the left with a sleek shellacked look on the right separated by a deep side part. Apply mousse to damp hair prep. Blow-dry bangs with a small round brush for added body and a swooshed effect. For lift, sprinkle Pronto Dry Teasing Dust and backcomb the front section. Secure the right section into a ponytail that sweeps over to the left so that all hair is gathered together. To mirror the runway look, incorporate the hand painted zebra hair extension. Finish with hairspray for a firm hold.
B-52 bouffant bobs are a perfect way to complement this pop art-inspired style. The 50s and 60s meet here, combining a sleek fringe and teased crown with flipped out ends. Set hair with rollers, comb out your set and brush ends up for a flipped effect. Enhance the dramatic bump in the crown with teasing dust. To achieve this super shiny finish, spray Dry Conditioner Spray and finish with hairspray.
This tousled twist is big on volume and texture. Tousle dry hair with a diffuser and set entire head with a curling iron, wrap sections around finger to create pin curls and secure with a roller clip. Remove clips and tousle with Texture & Volume Spray. Leaving the top section out (eyebrow to eyebrow, 2" back) secure all hair at the nape of the neck into a low twist. Sprinkle Dry Teasing Dust into the top section, lightly back comb. Loosely drag back to blend into the twist while maintaining height and lightly secure with a hair pin.
Think 90s grunge with the raw and sexy style. The wave pattern is natural and loose. To get this look, diffuse hair completely, applying no product while the hair is still damp. When hair is 100% dry, wrap random sections around a 1 ½” barrel for a natural movement. Apply dry shampoo spray to the roots and teasing dust throughout the strands for a gritty mattified effect throughout.
These bombshell bouncy waves can be worn on or off the runway. Apply mousse on damp hair to prep. Blow-dry hair with a large round brush until 100% dry. Set with large hot rollers. Remove rollers after they are cool and brush through with a natural bristle brush. Spray Dry Conditioner Spray to control flyaways and add luster. Finish with hairspray for a brushable hold.
