Aveda Creates an Urban Country Look for Tibi Fall 2014

There’s no avoiding braids backstage at Fashion Week Fall 2014, but the Aveda team at the Tibi show really displayed how smaller, more precise braids are taking the trend to a decidedly modern place. These aren’t the mussy down-on-the-farm braids of seasons past. A single cornrow down the center part makes a much stronger stylistic statement. The country aspect here comes from the elevated, natural waves.

For their part, Aveda really created a relaxing party-with-friends type atmosphere backstage. Special catering and a stress relief station featuring free hand massage treatments with stress-fix for guests and press really did create a more calming atmosphere than most shows. And by day three, we’re all starting to need those little stress-relieving pleasures.

The Bobbi Brown makeup look was “illuminated, natural and fresh.” Lips were stained with Port lip color, while girls were given clean and natural eyes with a full and strong brow. Makeup Artist Kim Soane was inspired by austere Amish life.
