Gina Guercia, Oscar Blandi’s brand ambassador and director of product development, weighs in on how to get the look from some of the hottest Fashion Week runways.
Creatures of Comfort
The main focus for this show was a new kind of fringe. It’s short, disheveled and reminiscent of the late 80s. This bang works great peeking out from under a large brimmed hat and serves as a perfect complement to bold-framed sunglasses. Use a texture and volume spray to create separation and texture.
This simply structured and sculpted style was a perfect complement to the meticulously crafted collection. Apply a sculpting pomade to damp hair for long-lasting shape and hold.
This bold bang paired with a full undone length was a perfect mix for this city-swept, urban-inspired collection. Our Oscar Blandi Dry Teasing Dust would be great to achieve this. Apply it throughout the length of hair for that gritty volume and then lock down a bold, sleek bang with tons of our Lacca Hairspray.
This multidimensional style is a new fresh way to go sleek and it's a perfect complement to the multilayered, highly-textured collection. Prep hair by evenly saturating it (our Jasmine Oil Serum would be great for this) and then firmly pull hair back with a ribbed headband. Wrap ponytail into a tight, sleek bun.
Move over topknot, this highly-styled chignon is perfectly elegant with a whimsical structure. Prep dry straight hair with a dry conditioner spray. Create a ponytail, separate into five sections. Create four small buns in the center and wrap a large section around the buns. Finish with hairspray.
Herve Leger is all about sex appeal, and this look delivers just that with flashes of bold color streamed through a strong, sleek fashion pony. For this glass-like finish, it's all about the hairspray. Use a fine-tooth comb and a toothbrush to banish all flyaways. For the commitment-free color streaks, use clip-in pieces.
Perfectly unkempt and ungroomed, this understated look complements the hand-thrown collection. Apply a mousse to damp hair and blowdry in large sections with a naturally bristled brush. Apply a texture and volume spray all over dry hair to tousle and finish.
Rag & Bone
Dirty hair, don't care! I love this effortlessly chic look, which combines wet and dry textures. Prep damp hair with a combination of dry oil for shine and tons of mousse for hold. With a blowdryer, sculpt hair up away from the face and tight on the sides. Blowdry length naturally. Keep length loose and secure with an elastic at the nape. Start with straight polished hair for a less relaxed look.
This twisted half-up look is super simple, but makes such a strong statement. The knotted style is a perfect choice to complement the trimmed angles and articulated stitching. Start with flat-ironed hair and use a heat protecting product to hold and shield hair from heat. Take sections from the sides, drag back and knot two times. Secure with a bobby pin. Finish with a dry conditioner or luminous shine hairspray for hold.
Done and undone! This hair is highly-styled and then taken down to give hair a fluffy matte texture. Smooth hair with a blowdryer, then lightly mist with water. I would then apply our Hair Lift Mousse and diffuse. For additional volume, I'd apply dry shampoo to the roots.
