Dick Page, artistic director for Shiseido, looked to the fabric used for Tess Giberson‘s Spring 2015 collection for makeup inspiration. “Tess talked about Palm Springs and swimming pools, and then the holographic fabric on a pleated skirt that had a shine to it caught my eye,” noted Page. Giberson’s thoughts and that skirt brought him to use the inky blue liner found in the Sparkling Party Palette (out in October). He lined the eyes in that color, blended it out a little and topped it off with the pale iridescent blue found in the Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio in Static ($33). To complete the eyes, he used a couple coats of mascara and used Shimmering Cream Eye Colors — yes, eyeshadows — in Leather, Sunshower, Caviar and Meadow ($25 each) to fill in models’ brows. Genius!
