Backstage at NYFW: Mixing Pastels and Brights at Sally LaPointe Spring 2015

“I would describe this look as a palette cleanser,” explained key makeup artist Kabuki, backstage at Sally LaPointe. Using MAC products, Kabuki prepped the skin with the brand’s popular Prep and Primer Smoother ($30) and gave models a “no makeup” complexion by using Mineralized SkinFinish Powder ($32) where needed. Upon looking at the finished product, eyes stood out — and rightfully so. Kabuki combined a cocktail of cyan, crimson, white, and fuchsia using Lipmix ($15), which works well on the eyes to get that dusty lilac shade and Morange Lipstick ($16) to create the rosy, red-orange lip.
