Backstage at NYFW: Hair Knots at Zero + Maria Cornejo

“Fresh, summery, innocent, naive and clean were the words emailed to me before the hair test for this show,” explained Hair Stylist James Pecis backstage at Zero + Maria Cornejo. To him, that meant a deep, left side part for models, which went across the face to match the direction of the clothing’s geometric angles. “The part is really the only strong portion of the look, the rest is really soft and airy.” To achieve the airiness, Pecis used a T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i Dryer ($250) to create the fluffy texture, and then he divided hair into four sections to tie a square knot, which was secured with an elastic thread.
