Backstage at NYFW: Nature and Color Inspired Beauty at Delpozo

The perception and use of color were the focal points for Delpozo‘s Spring 2015 show. Inspiration was drawn from different artists and when it came to beauty, the focus was really on colors that were bold, but still delicate.

Global Creative Director for Moroccanoil Antonio Corral Calero created a sleek and low ponytail. “The clothing is very beautiful, so we wanted hair to look tame, simple, linear and well-hydrated.” Hair was prepped with Moroccanoil’s Treatment Light and Styling Cream before it was parted down the middle, and the front sections were combed down and tied underneath the hair at the nape of the neck. The rest of the hair covering the pulled-back sections was flatironed using Moroccanoil’s flatiron and pulled back with an elastic toward the ends of the hair for a loose, linear and simple ponytail.

Playing off the inspiration by Nils-Udo, makeup artist Monica Marmo covered lids using MAC’s Paint Stick in Landscape Green mixed with Pure White ($21 each). The lash line was then lined with a complementary mix of MAC’s Paint Stick in Process Magenta ($21) and Pure White, which made a gorgeous light pink. The same mixture of the pinkish magenta was used on the lips and cheeks, and was applied with the finger to diffuse the color and create a delicate effect.
