The Beauty Look at Fendi You Have to See to Believe (It Involves Leather)

Once upon a time, makeup artist Peter Philips used neoprene (yes, the fabric worn by surfers in the winter) as eyeliner on models walking in Fendi‘s Spring 2013 show. Well, he’s done it again, except this time he settled on leather backstage at Fendi’s Spring 2015 show — baby blue leather to be exact. In recent interviews, Philips said that Karl Lagerfeld asked that the makeup in the show incorporate the light blue color. Philips did just that by cutting thin strips of leather and applying those strips along the lash line with lash glue. He filled in visible gaps with black liquid eyeliner and used a set of blunt-cut false lashes for extra drama. Hairstylist Sam McKnight pulled models’ hair into gorgeous, windblown ponytails adorned with leather, floral-inspired accessories. This has got to be the ultimate DIY beauty look of Fashion Month thus far.
