What do Naomi Campbell, Irina Shayk, Elsa Hosk, Sara Sampaio and Alessandra Ambrosio have in common? Well, aside from having some of the modeling world’s most recognizable faces, they all swear by Israel-based Mimi Luzon‘s 24K gold facial. In fact, Luzon is so popular in the modeling industry that she spends a good part of the year traveling the world to help pamper her celebrity clients’ skin, including Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks and the Angels before they take to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway. Now, in addition to popping up across Europe and her namesake spa in Israel, Luzon has launched a collection of products to help women (and men!) around the world get her signature 24K gold facial at home.

The facial involves placing a thin layer of glimmering gold foil on your face and, as you might expect, gold doesn’t come cheap. Luzon’s über luxe brightening gold masks are $299 (for four treatments) and to get the full effect, you’ll also need to invest in her 24K Pure Gold Eye Treatment (undereye patches) and 24K Pure Gold Dust (loose gold leaf flakes that you add to your treatment cream or moisturizer for a skin-brightening effect).
While the beauty innovator is best known for working with gold, she also launched a silver mask. Called Wonder Mask, it’s meant to help mitigate redness, breakouts and inflammation (the gold mask is purely for brightening). Silver, she says, has a calming effect on skin. It’s also anti-inflammatory and a natural antiseptic, and the seaweed extract, arnica, hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, also part of Wonder Mask’s formulation, work to soothe and moisturize. As for the price, silver will set you back $186 for four treatments.
Both the gold and silver masks come packaged as thin sheets, but because the silver and gold leaf are very sensitive, they crack upon application — all the better for your social media post. Reviews indicate that it’s not nearly as messy to remove the gold or silver as it may look and you can leave each sheet on for 10 minutes to an hour.
It’s important to note, however, that many people are sensitive to gold and silver. If you get a rash when you put on gold or silver jewelry, don’t try these masks! If you do use one of these treatment products and notice a red rash starting to form, wash it off immediately and see your dermatologist. It’s also worth highlighting that if you’re looking to get the gold effect for less, Peter Thomas Roth makes Un-Wrinkle 24K Gold Intense Wrinkle Sheet Masks ($68 for six masks) and 24K Gold Mask Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Mask ($80). Sadly, the Peter Thomas Roth masks are white, so they won’t look nearly as stunning on Instagram.
