Get the Look: Glowing Hydrated Summer Skin

Getting a glowing, sun-ready look for summer can be difficult and after months of wearing full coverage foundations and dark fall colors, it can be hard to break those winter skincare habits. If you have normal or oily skin, the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration™ lotion sunscreen can help you skip a step by providing rich moisturizing properties on top of the broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. For medium to dark or olive skin tones, try the SPF 12 version, which will give you a bit of protection, but still allow the sun’s rays through. If you have medium to light skin tones, try the SPF 30, or if you’re very fair the range offers protection all the way up to SPF 50

One of the biggest issues women face with applying, and more importantly, reapplying sunscreen, is that it can be quite hard to reapply once you’ve done your makeup. It’s with this in mind that you have to really work to simplify your makeup routine in the summer. No one wants to look like they have a caked on mask of makeup, so once you’ve applied your sunscreen, try going in with a concealer instead of a heavy foundation. You’ll still be able to cover any problem areas, but you’ll let more of your skin’s natural texture shine through which will automatically give you a fresher, more youthful glow. Leaving your skin bare means that the more makeup you apply to the rest of your face, the more forced it will look. Try swapping a soft brown liner for your standard black, and work with golden shades around your eyes and cheeks. No matter your skin type, there’s a warm golden shade for you. Using gold and bronze tones allow you to still feel made-up without the shocking colors. Finish off your look with a lip and cheek stain that will give you a touch of color without any hassle.

When you’re looking to reapply your sunscreen a few hours into the day, take the cream in your hand and apply it carefully section by section. Once you’re done, reapply any concealer which may have faded or shifted and your skin should look as good as it did in the morning.
