Ease into Spring with Michelle Dockery’s Soft and Pretty Beauty Look

Where: The Entertainment Weekly Screen Actors Guild Party

Why we like it: Now that we’re well into awards season, we have red carpet looks aplenty to inspire us in the evening but Michelle Dockery’s look here is perfect daytime inspiration. Fresh, clean skin is accented with a soft lip and well groomed brows. Add some bold lashes and you’re good to go.

How to get it at home: Start with a base that isn’t too heavy but provides enough coverage for you to feel confident, such as Too Faced’s Air Buffed BB Crème Complete Coverage Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Sunscreen, $39. While the color range on this product isn’t the best, the cream to powder finish is great for women with oily skin who want to jump on the BB crean bandwagon. Give your skin a subtle glow with Kat Von D’s Everlasting Blush in Lovesong, $25, but be sure to blend it well into the skin.

Groom your brows with a spooly brush and fill in any sparse areas with a pencil, such as Givenchy’s Eyebrow Show Powdery Eyebrow Pencil, $23. Be sure not to overdraw your brows because you just want them to look well shaped and groomed rather than painted on. Instead of using an eyeshadow to warm up the eyelid area, try using a fluffy blending brush and a bit of your blush through the crease. This will not only tie your whole look together but also cut down on the number of products you need to use. Michelle is very clearly wearing false lashes here, and that’s not always practical for everyday, but if you want the same foolproof, no smudge look, try Blinc’s Mascara Amplified, $26, which is a super boosted version of the brand’s cult tubing mascara.

Finish off your look with an easy to apply lipstick, such as Yves Saint Laurent’s Rouge Volupte Shine in 8 Pink in Confidence, $34, which offers a soft pink color with the added benefits of a balm.
