Waiting for the September issues to smash onto our local newsstands is like waiting for Christmas morning, but finally U.K. Vogue‘s edition has dropped for our entertainment and pleasure. As whispered about weeks ago, British actress Emma Watson takes the honor of gracing the title’s newly unveiled cover, wearing Stella McCartney and photographed by Josh Olins. Just like Emma’s December 2010 appearance, we thought Mario Testino would’ve shot the feature, so Olins is certainly a welcome choice.
Unfortunately, the cover fell short with our forum members. “This would be more fitting on the cover of a teen girl magazine,” Nomar suggested immediately.
“Great to see them move away from head shots. This would’ve been a great Teen Vogue cover, but it’s nice to see Emma. I’m surprised they haven’t matured her a bit to appeal to their broad range of women,” wondered an underwhelmed Benn98.

“This should be better, it’s still good but it could be better. Something is off with her face, maybe they used too much Photoshop? I think she looks better than this cover lets on,” said KateTheGreatest.
Also not feeling the outcome was Kanna: “Emma looks tired. Adding some color on the lips would do good.”
GlamorousBoy was quick to complain, “Bad hair, bad expression, bad pose… I am very disappointed.”
“I adore Emma but sadly this isn’t the best cover she’s landed by any means. What a shame. The hair has just tipped too far into ‘through a hedge backwards’ for me. Daria [Werbowy] on Porter is artfully disheveled, this is just… scruffy,” said honeycombchild.

Tegan Martin is trading in the heels for the flip flops, with the Miss Universe Australia 2014 winner revealing that she will be a new character on Home & Away later this month.
“Watch out Summer Bay, Ivana is coming to stir the pot,” Tegan explained on her Instagram, with Daily Mail Australia revealing that Ivana will be the ex-girlfriend of Johnny Ruffo‘s character, Chris Harrington. “He’s really, really nice. I knew Johnny before the show and we’ve been friends for a while so it was just like working with a mate really,” she told Daily Mail Australia, adding that, “There was no intimacy” for her cameo.
Tegan also opened up about her experience filming for the long-time soap on her Instagram, saying that she had “such a ball” with the show’s crew. “You guys are like one big family and welcomed me with open arms,” she wrote.
Tegan’s appearance will air on August 13 on Channel Seven.

Puerto Rican model Joan Smalls is heading down under to launch label Studio.W into the Australian market.
The brand is one of the recently announced additions to department store David Jones, and Joan will take the runway in an exclusive show for media and VIPs at the department store later this month.
“We are thrilled to be launching Studio.W into the Australian market, offering the David Jones’ customer careerwear with an edge,” Donna Player, David Jones’ group executive merchandise, told Sydney Confidential. “The phenomenal Joan Smalls will officially launch the brand in August, and we look forward to her runway appearance.”
Joan is the face of Studio.W’s current collection.

By now, the September issues are slowly but steadily starting to surface on our forums. We took a peek at the latest edition of U.K. Harper’s Bazaar as the magazine welcomes back Rosie Huntington-Whiteley onto its cover (Rosie’s September 2014 cover is still fresh in our memories). This time around, the British model-turned-actress was photographed by Alexi Lubomirski and participated in a rooftop shoot on location in New York City. On the cover for subscribers (right), Rosie wears a Saint Laurent blazer and chiffon dress while on the regular newsstand cover (left), she works a dress by Prada.

As always, forum members couldn’t wait to debate. “Wasn’t Rosie last year’s model choice for the same issue? I remember the ed was perfect! This also looks really good, let’s see how the editorial will turn out…” miguelalmeida commented the moment the covers surfaced.
“OMG, I’m in LOVE with the actual cover!” Fotoholic24 raved.
Sharing the same attitude was Srdjan: “I love the outfit choice for the newsstand cover and I adore the pastel colours. Of course, Rosie herself is the best part of this issue! She silently became a favorite of mine.”
KateTheGreatest was a fan too, writing, “I’m excited to see Rosie, they do use her a lot but I prefer her than most other people constantly getting covers.”
The negativity soon came flooding in, however. “The styling is terrible, I don’t care if it’s Saint Laurent, the chiffon dress looks cheap. I don’t understand the Rosie love, she’s a terrible model, she missed her true calling as a stylist,” said HeatherAnne.
“I don’t like her face here — it looks too long and exaggerated but I love everything else about the cover,” MyNameIs admitted.

Starring in the upcoming all-female Ghostbusters film and widely know for her comical roles in Bridesmaids and Gilmore Girls, it turns out that Melissa McCarthy is also a super talented fashion designer. The Emmy award-winning actress recently teamed up with Gerard Guez’s Sunrise Brands for the launch of her own fashion line, Melissa McCarthy Seven7.
While her acting career is booming, fashion is still a huge part of her life. “It’s always what I thought I would do,” she stated in an interview with Vogue. “I went into clothing and textiles in college and moved here with [shoe designer] Brian Atwood. I was going to finish at FIT and he made me do stand-up on the second night.”

It looks like the star can juggle both fashion and comedy these days. According to the article, the goal behind McCarthy’s new line is to bring runway styles to women who don’t fit regular sample sizes. The line will range from size 4 to size 28 and will cater to all body types. “It goes beyond the age-old myth that only all-black looks can be slimming, with an adventurous, and equally flattering use of color-blocking.” Her styles will also satisfy “real-world needs.” Think pockets in dresses. “I put pockets in everything! Is there anything that Kendall and Kylie Jenner can’t do? With PacSun and Topshop collaborations under their belt and their new Kendall + Kylie clothing label, the duo have created quite the fashion empire for themselves. Next on their list? A shoe line. Kendall leaked the news on Twitter with a sneak peak photos of the collection.
“I really love it, Kendall told Footwear News. “We’ve been excited about this for a while. We’ve been working on it for about a year, but it’s so cool to see everything in person.”
“My sisters tend to wear heels, but I’m super into flats,” relayed Kendall. But Kylie is all about heels. “I don’t wear flats. Ever. I don’t own a pair, not even gladiators,” she said. “Just a few sneakers—that’s the only time I’ll wear a flat.” Kylie went on to state that heels make her feel more secure. “I’m not as skinny as Kendall, so when I’m in heels, it makes my legs look longer and slimmer.”

Can the sisters see eye to eye for the footwear collection? Apparently so. According to the interview, the footwear collection will include around 70 different styles. “Think strappy stilettos, sharp pumps, pointed mules, flatforms and the odd flat sandal, all done in a streamlined palette to complement the apparel’s overall neutrality.” Whew. We like options.

When asked to describe themselves in shoe form, Kylie said she was a “lace-up thigh-high” and Kendall said she is a “cool boot heel. Or a bright metallic pump, like my Manolos.” As for the sibling with the most shoes? That would be Khloe. “She has a ton — the most of any of us,” Kendall said.
The new footwear collection will debut on Kendall + Kylie in Spring 2016. Clothing will be capped at $250, while the shoe styles will range from $89 to $160.
