Carey Mulligan Is Pretty In Pink on Vogue Australia’s January Cover

After revealing a total overhaul of the entire magazine back in September, Vogue Australia has been powering through with newfound confidence. After a gorgeous Margot Robbie cover for December, Aussie Vogue‘s cover for January is just as beautiful. Fresh from the cover of UK Harper’s Bazaar, Carey Mulligan is the title’s first cover girl of 2018, taking to the rooftops of New York City for a rather cinematic cover shoot. The actress was photographed by Emma Summerton wearing a show-stopping Giambattista Valli gown, styled by Christine Centenera.

Members of our forums were instant fans. “LOOOOOOOVE this! THAT is what I want to see in Vogue around the world: the haute couture, the drama, the over-the-top clothes/hair and makeup and pure glamour,” declared Bertrando3.

“Ooooo lovely!” sighed Lucien122. (more…)

Gigi Hadid and Kate Moss Join Forces for Stuart Weitzman’s Spring 2018 Campaign

Every so often, Stuart Weitzman switches up the casting for its ad campaigns (probably less often than it should). Gigi Hadid has been the face of the label for the past four seasons and she’s now back for her fifth — but not alone. The shoe label welcomes back Kate Moss for Spring 2018 to pose alongside Gigi in the New York-based brand’s signature black and white advertising campaign. Also making a reappearance for his 13th consecutive Stuart Weitzman campaign is photographer Mario Testino, who captured Kate, Gigi and male model-of-the-moment Jordan Barrett in the studio.

According to our forum members, the campaign left a lot to be desired. “I never thought I’d see the day when I would say that Gigi Hadid looks better than Kate Moss in a photo, but here we are,” said dodencebt in total shock.

“Gigi seems to be doing Kate Moss better than Kate herself,” added KissMiss. “Anyway, do I need to mention how groundbreaking and original this campaign is?” (more…)

Forum Members Aren’t Here for Paris Jackson’s Irrelevant Vogue Brazil Cover

Paris Jackson was wholeheartedly embraced by the fashion industry in 2017, signing a lucrative contract with Calvin Klein and covering the likes of Vogue Australia, Harper’s Bazaar, CR Fashion Book and Teen Vogue. Vogue Brazil (as well as Carine Roitfeld) ushers Paris into 2018, as the 19-year-old graces the title’s cover for January, following a series of Valentina Sampaio covers for December. Paris was photographed by Jacques Dequeker wearing Prada in the fairly simple black and white image.

Members of our forums weren’t having it. “What in the fresh hell is this?” asked a horrified dodencebt upon seeing the cover.

“They are trying very hard to make her happen but she is very irrelevant in this industry. She is neither a style icon or someone who is doing good music or movies. She has done nothing,” pointed out a completely disinterested Lola701. (more…)

Kendall Jenner Doesn’t Cut It as Harper’s Bazaar’s February Cover Girl

American Harper’s Bazaar has become a little predictable over the years (and they aren’t alone), churning out covers with the same old faces issue after issue. As the magazine unveils its first standalone edition of 2018, Kendall Jenner is back on the cover exactly seven issues after she resembled a 60s housewife on Bazaar‘s May 2016 installment. Appearing more modern this time, Kendall was photographed by Solve Sundsbo, wearing Calvin Klein and Saint Laurent on the special subscribers cover (after the jump).

Per usual, a select few of our forum members weren’t here for anything Kendall related. “She’s just a pretty girl who sits there. Essentially. There’s never anything to anything. The cover just looks like it belongs in Estée Lauder’s Christmas campaign to me,” voiced honeycombchild.

“I mean, she really is hopeless as a model. At this stage I am just laughing,” ranted KissMiss. (more…)

Naomi Campbell and Others Strut Their Stuff for Steven Meisel’s Campy Moschino Campaign

Steven Meisel has hit yet another home run (we’re willing to overlook his current Chloé campaign) with the unveiling of Moschino’s advertising campaign for Spring 2018. Jeremy Scott has hired Meisel to shoot the Italian label’s mainline campaigns since 2014 and each one has been a success. The legendary lensman proves his worth, once again, with the latest campaign starring a bevy of models walking a vintage-style fashion show, styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele. Naomi Campbell flashes a smile while strutting her stuff down the makeshift runway, while beauties Yasmin Wijnaldum, Aube Jolicoeur, Adut Akech and Liya Kebede follow suit in the remaining images.

The campaign received a standing ovation from our forum members. “Meisel’s having a very busy season! This is beyond cheesy but it’s Moschino so it makes sense,” approved Lola701.

“OK, I LOVE this. It’s so tacky, campy and gaudy,” wrote Benn98. (more…)

Same Concept, New Designer and Photographer for Chloé’s Spring 2018 Campaign

In the latest game of designer musical chairs, Natacha Ramsay-Levi showcased her debut collection for Chloé during Paris Fashion Week in September and now her first advertising campaign for the French label just dropped. Still easily identifiable as Chloé, a bevy of models, including Alex Mark, Charlene Högger, Eliza Cummings, Fran Summers, Hayett McCarthy, Jing Wen, Line Kjaergaard, Makala Johnson, Radhika Nair, Rianne van Rompaey and Sophie Koella, come together for the feminine, fresh Spring 2018 campaign.

Since we half suspected the images were shot by someone like Charlotte Wales, our forum members were shocked to learn that Steven Meisel was behind the lens. “This was shot by Meisel? Seems like Natascha wanted to start off with a bang, but the actual campaign is a bit disappointing. And I also hate when girls are used as backdrops. Jing deserves her own shot,” fumed forum member mathiaskatz at once.

“For me, it’s a waste to use Meisel and to keep the same concept they have had for almost more than a decade now,” Lola701 pointed out. (more…)
