Christian Dior’s Fall 2017 Campaign Features ‘Bored Models’ Wearing ‘Boring Clothes’

Maria Grazia Chiuri can’t catch a break from our opinionated forum members when it comes to showing off her talents at Christian Dior. The creative director’s debut advertising campaign for the iconic French fashion house failed to make a splash for Spring 2017 and Jennifer Lawrence‘s current campaign for the brand was deemed boring. Now, as we take a peek at Dior’s campaign for the upcoming Fall 2017 season, our forums aren’t exactly thrilled. No doubt photographed by Brigitte Lacombe again, Dior switches up the casting by adding models Adwoa Aboah and Jing Wen to pose alongside Ruth Bell, who starred in last season’s campaign with sister May Bell.

Our forum members didn’t hold back their opinions. “Depressing, boring, uninspiring, flat. Nothing’s happening here,” said a disapproving Valentine27 the moment the first campaign image dropped.

“They all look so bored. Why would any woman want to buy Dior with those three staring back at them?” asked a startled mepps. (more…)

Irina Shayk Is the Perfect Fit for Blumarine’s Fall 2017 Campaign

With campaigns for Alberta Ferretti, Bally, Replay, Missoni and Givenchy, Irina Shayk had quite the season for Spring 2017. Now off to a promising start for Fall 2017, Irina replaces Sara Sampaio as the face of Blumarine. Once again shot by photographic duo Luigi & Iango, the Italian fashion house ditches the plain studio backdrop in favor of the decadent surroundings of a 20th-century villa for the series of ultra-feminine and sophisticated campaign images.

Our forum members were impressed. “Finally, a gorgeous Blumarine campaign, it’s been years! Great photography and a great model for Blumarine,” applauded DutchHomme .

“Oh wow, perhaps the most polished Blumarine campaign I’ve seen in ages! Irina looks stunning, and the clothes look great. Good job, Luigi & Iango!” echoed Benn98. (more…)

Imaan Hammam’s Gorgeous Cover of Vogue Spain Is Giving Us Major Déjà Vu

Vogue Spain is going through a transition period right now with a new editor-in-chief at the helm. Last month’s Jessica Chastain appearance felt a bit random but the new July 2017 cover is right on target. Riding a wave of success for 2017, model Imaan Hammam adds the cover of Spanish Vogue to her already impressive portfolio that includes American Vogue, British Vogue, Arabian Vogue and Japanese Vogue.

“Getting a Porter-esuqe déjà vu, with this cover! But I don’t care, it’s so wonderful to see Imaan scoring all these Vogue covers,” applauded forum member Miss Dalloway at once.

“Love the styling and dark colors. That jacket fits really nice on her. I think this is better than her recent Porter cover. Good on her for booking all these Vogue covers!” championed Benn98. (more…)

Selena Gomez Makes Her Debut as Coach’s Brand Ambassador for Fall 2017

As announced in December 2016, Selena Gomez is the new brand ambassador for Coach, having inked a multimillion-dollar deal with the New York-based fashion brand. Selena’s debut as the face of Coach comes in the form of the label’s newly unveiled Fall 2017 advertising campaign. Photographed by Coach regular (and forum favorite) Steven Meisel, Selena plays up to the role of the all-American Coach woman perfectly, captured in the back of a vintage car wearing Stuart Vevers’ designs, styled by Karl Templer.

Was the outcome enough to satisfy our forum members? “This is possibly the best I have seen her look in print, they changed her eyebrows, and she looks so much more mature, and interesting,” raved Miss Dalloway upon seeing the campaign images.

“She fits Coach better than that weird Louis Vuitton stint,” added RedSmokeRise. (more…)

Adriana Lima Captivates on Harper’s Bazaar Spain’s Flawless Black & White Covers

The last time Harper’s Bazaar Spain caught our forum’s attention this much was back in March with a sophisticated Stella Maxwell on the cover. This month, the ever-gorgeous Adriana Lima stars on two covers for July 2017, marking what seems to be Yolanda Sacristan‘s debut as editor-in-chief. Shot by Vincent Peters, Adriana looks like a goddess in the flawless and captivating black and white images.

“Exactly what I expected when I read Adriana Lima by Vincent Peters, absolute bombshell brilliance! Love it. She always delivers when stylists and photographers play up to her va-va-voom appeal. Both covers are splendid,” commented forum member Benn98 the moment the covers were revealed.

“This is simply divine. She’s inconceivably gorgeous,” complemented happycanadian. (more…)

Bella Hadid Replaces Sister Gigi as the New Face of Max Mara Accessories for Fall 2017

Bella Hadid continues to land major advertising campaigns for the Fall 2017 season. Her latest is the new Max Mara Accessories campaign, for which older sister Gigi served as the face for two consecutive seasons. Bella was photographed by master photographer Steven Meisel for the moody campaign, looking rather melancholy and subdued peering out a window with the brand’s leather tote bag remaining in full focus.

The campaign seemed to leave our forums divided. “Guess mom and dad paid Meisel the big bucks,” snarled DutchHomme within seconds of the campaign coming to light.

“This anti-Hadid circle jerk is getting beyond tired. And these ‘their parents paid for this’ comments are insufferable TBH. Yes, Meisel was paid – by Max Mara to photograph one of the in-demand models of the moment. And it turned out gorgeous!” fired back forum member russianelf. (more…)
