Prada Stoles are Stealing Hearts of Fashion Insiders (Forum Buzz)

When models walked the Spring/Summer 2011 Prada runway swinging brightly colored decadent fox fur stoles at their sides, they instantly added an air of luxury to the lighthearted collection. Though it is not yet spring, the fashion flock has embraced the over-the-top accessory and is appearing out and about, brightening up their winter wardrobes with Prada’s eye-catching stoles.

Taylor Tomasi Hill, Style and Accessories Director at Marie Claire, took a more understated approach when she wore a navy and white version of the stole to the 2011 GEM Awards. “Love the way she wears the Prada stole,” said Wolkfolk. “Finally someone who shows some ingenuity, instead of only holding it.”

Shala Monroque, Editor-at-Large for Pop Magazine, and fashion designer Marc Jacobs both wore the black and green stripes with baby blue fox fur stole. “Did I miss the memo that those stoles were, in fact, to be worn as scarves?” laughed mikeijames. “It’s funny that [Shala] and Marc both wore the same stole the same way halfway across the world from each other.”

Ever on the cutting edge, even Rihanna can be seen rocking a Prada stole in the recently released music video for her song “S&M”. “If a single piece of fur makes me watch a video of Rihanna, there really must be something about it,” joked mackos.

It is probably safe to say that we haven’t seen the last of these Prada stoles. Could we be on the cusp of a new fashion phenomenon? As mikeijames said, “Miuccia Prada has got a hit on her hands, no?”
