The long-awaited Kate Moss cover of the September issue of Vogue (on newsstands August 23) has finally been revealed, and as expected, the image does not disappoint. Many of us expected that Kate would grace the cover wearing white in honor of her recent nuptials, but the rich violet tone of the featured Alexander McQueen dress came as a pleasant surprise. Of course, her diamond engagement ring is strategically peaking out of the folds of the long sleeve that is covering most of her left hand.
“The Iconic Kate never fails,” declared LiranYana. The cover promises “an inside look at the most romantic wedding of the year” (meaning Kate’s wedding to the Kills’ Jamie Hince) and Vogue also released some preview shots of the editorial.
“This is pretty much perfect,” wrote saann. “I love the shot of her with her daughter, they look so much alike,” she added.
“I absolutely love it,” Caswell posted. “The cover, Kate with (her daughter) Lila, and the bridesmaids shots are all fantastic. I was waiting patiently for this cover to be released and I'm very pleased. It all seems so very ‘Kate’ without trying to make her seem very rock and roll, which (I feel) so many magazines do nowadays. It all just seems so natural.”
Clo posted, “What a truly stunning cover! Kate has never looked better and that shade of purple is so autumn-ish! Splendid! Probably their best September cover in years.”
You know the issue preview is a resounding success when the thought, “Anna Wintour deserves a hug,” crosses someone’s mind (this time the thought came from forum member YourMonster).
Well done Vogue. We can’t wait to see the rest.
