Lanvin’s Menswear Campaign is Undeniably Charming (Forum Buzz)

The first images from Lanvin’s Fall 2011 Menswear campaign began trickling out back in June and though excitement over menswear can be slow to catch on, this campaign has stealthily charmed the Fashion Spot’s forum members. The images feature models Lowell Tautchin and Milo Spijkers as dapperly dressed gentlemen photographed mid dance move by Steven Meisel.

“It’s odd and awkward and I think that’s why I like it,” Street_a_Licious laughed.

“I think this campaign has its charm. It puts a smile on my face. Very cute,” Ives927 assessed.

Mikeijames liked that the ads fit in with his perception of the brand’s personality. “I just find these ads entirely humorous in that singularly Lanvin way,” he posted.

“This campaign just gets better and better,” HeatherAnne wrote as the thread was updated with more images this week. “Love the atmosphere, the warm rich colors and something about those poses really delights me when combined with the dandy styling. It’s nice to see a photographer have some fun with his work while still maintaining the sophistication of the brand. Brilliant job Meisel and team.”

The Lanvin menswear ads just have a great Mad Men sort of appeal that makes me want to get up and awkwardly dance with these guys. Or even if we don’t get to the dancing, I would definitely let them lure me into a smoke-filled bar where they would buy me a drink and tell me how swell I am before dropping me off at the Barbizon.
