Kirsten Dunst has been out and about promoting Melancholia and it’s been a great opportunity for her to try out a lot of new looks. Her latest, a tomato print dress from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2012 collection that she wore to the AFI Fest premiere of Melancholia, got forums members talking.
“WOW she looks fab,” wrote Label Basher
. “It's so not her usual look but she totally pulls it off.”
was also on board with the look. “I absolutely love this collection, it's fun quirky and sassy,” she posted. “I didn’t expect to see it on Kirsten but I think she looks fantastic, the whole retro look works and still shows off her fun side. It’s my favorite dress she’s worn yet but it’s been stiff competition. She’s spoiling us.”
commented, “She looks perfect. One of her best looks this year. I love the sandals.”
Some other forum members were not so enthused by the choice. “Oh no… not even Kiki can make me love this dress… it's awful,” isa.b.elle.
wrote, “The dress is way too summery to me… and, just, ugly. I do love how much she is experimenting with different looks lately though,” she added.
Whether you like the Dolce & Gabbana look or not, Kirsten Dunst is kind of on a roll and it’s fun to watch someone like her promote a film because she doesn’t always make typical and expected wardrobe choices. I think I can speak for all of her fans in the Fashion Spot forums when I say we’re looking forward to seeing more of her as she continues the Melancholia press tour.
