Madonna is featured on the December cover of Harper’s Bazaar with actress Andrea Riseborough, who stars as Wallace Simpson in Madonna’s upcoming film W.E. Though we haven’t seen much of Andrea yet, she clearly seems to be a star on the rise.
Left: Newsstand cover, Right: Subscriber cover
There was no clear consensus among forum members in terms of whether the newsstand and subscriber covers deserved a thumbs up or thumbs down. Images of Andrea were met with praise, but Madonna didn’t get off so easy. Blueorchid

first reaction was: “This looks great, much better than I thought!”
seemed apathetic posting, “Not good. Not bad. Not much to say.”
I think I’m in Northern Star’s camp. I actually like the covers but could do without the inundation of excessive text. Junking it up like that just detracts from the sophistication of the actual image. Several forum members mentioned that but for the layout of the newsstand cover, the image looks like it could belong on an issue of W, and I agree. Andrea has an ethereal sort of beauty and Madonna’s face looks as good as it can look in spite of the unnatural contours from whatever fillers and botox she’s indulging in these days. No offense intended to Madonna, but I’m looking forward to a solo Andrea Riseborough cover sometime soon. She just might mesmerize us all.
