When forum members caught sight of Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2012 ad campaign featuring Candice Swanepoel, they couldn’t help but be pleasantly surprised. Collections full of pretty dresses tend to have tame, elegant and tastefully quiet ad campaigns, but this campaign, photographed by Daniel Jackson, is infused with an unexpected energy and power as a result of Candice’s relatively aggressive horizontal poses.
“These are breathtaking and not at all what I expected,” saann posted. “I especially love how well the texture of the clothes is shown, it makes for a great sell.”
Psylocke loved what she saw as well. “AMAZING!! Absolute perfection,” she declared. “I was one of a few people here on tFS who actually liked this collection even if everything looked a bit cheap and tacky, but here the dresses look flawless, especially that ruffled one. That picture is all about the dress. Candice looks gorgeous, though. There's so much force and energy in every single pose here and the unusual styling on her with the dark hair and dark red lips looks great.”
Street_a_Licious summed up the campaign simply: “BOOM! DEAD! She killed it. I love it.”
Yes, Candice did kill it in the best possible way and I love it too. All of a sudden I want everything in my wardrobe to be purple, black, and white.
