Hedi Slimane photographed model Daphne Groeneveld in a close-up beauty shot for Vogue Russia’s April issue, but her over-the-top makeup and styling left forum members reeling.
“Too much of everything! Makeup, big hair…….tragic really,” Miss Dalloway lamented.
“Doesn't look proper for being an April cover,” Kanna posted. “Too dark with the excessively heavy makeup.”
Marc10 thought Daphne’s assets were being oddly magnified rather than enhanced by the makeup. “People need to stop making Daphne look like a contestant from RuPaul's Drag Race. She's such a naturally beautiful girl,” he wrote.
Melancholybaby quipped, “Honestly this looks like a beauty shot of a dead clown. Makeup this excessive does not do Daphne's face any justice, and when paired with Hedi's yawn-inducing photography, the overall result is a mess (and not an haute one at that).”
There’s not a whole lot more you can say after that.
