Marc Jacobs stuck with his usual formula to promote Dot, his new fragrance for women. The circular crop of the images, a tribute to the fragrance’s name and bottle, may be a minor change from the norm, but Juergen Teller once again photographed an unconventional beauty – this time it’s Codie Young – to represent the brand.
“I wonder if people even notice when a new Marc Jacobs fragrance is out when every ad campaign for every one of them always looks the same,” Psylocke posted. “I adore Codie and she looks great, but this whole child-looking model/actress awkwardly holding up a perfume bottle concept, shot by Teller, is so tiring.”
“I’m so happy for Codie,” jmrmartinho wrote. “I actually like this one, but I agree it always looks the same,” he conceded.
Cologne_rocks didn’t seem to have the same feeling of déjà vu as the rest of us. Or if he did, he didn’t seem to care. “I find it is a lovely ad. Very summery and calm. Codie is a nice choice for this,” he commented.
I’m pretty sure at this point that I could safely and confidently bet someone a bajillion dollars that Juergen Teller will shoot Marc Jacobs’ next ad campaign. It would feel nice to know that I would theoretically be a bajillion dollars richer, but I would probably feel bad for the poor soul who was foolish enough to take the bet.
