September issue previews have begun to roll out and Karlie Kloss’ Vogue Japan cover is one of the latest. The cover is a mix of emerald, amethyst, and smoky grey jewel tones against a white background, with Karlie working a YSL chainmail dress and directing her intense gaze into the camera’s lens for all it's worth.
Melancholybaby posted, “Best Vogue Japan cover this year by far. All their usual elements are here (white background, text overload etc) but something feels different. Kudos to Karlie.”
“That YSL dress is never going to get old for me,” Luxx commented. “Love it more and more each time I see it—as always Karlie delivers, though I do think that the cool color tone of the image is unusual. Perhaps it is one of those things that is going to look amazing on the physical issue but slightly off-kilter in a digital image? Either way this is a solid cover.”
Psylocke wrote, “What a stunning cover. This is the first Vogue Japan cover I love… ever,” she laughed. “It's so perfect, Karlie looks striking, the YSL dress is divine and the makeup is beautiful. I have zero complaints here, they got everything right and it's flawless.”
So far so good for the September issue cover previews. We’ve got a long way to go though. Can’t wait to see what else is in store!
