I love seeing an older, familiar face on the cover of a magazine, so I was pleasantly surprised when Helena Christensen appeared on the cover of Elle Brazil’s May issue. Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, there’s color and life in this image. And, unlike French Vogue’s May cover featuring Freja Beha Erichsen and a leopard-print couch, sofa, (I don’t even know what to call it), the use of a chair as a prop on this cover enhances the image and works in sync with Helena’s look.
“Very striking cover,” ALAUU commented.
“Stunning cover, she looks beautiful of course,” GlamorousBoy chimed in.
“I love how her coat matches the Elle logo (or rather the other way round),” AnaO shared. “And the black nails are cool!”
I don’t think black nails will ever be uncool (every time I see someone with them it makes me want to change up my manicure, stat) and I have to agree that they were a good styling choice here. Up against the riot of color that’s already all over the cover, any other hue on Helena's nails would have seemed over the top.
Well played this month, Elle Brazil.
