A Topless Rita Ora Is UK Elle’s Latest Cover Subject (Forum Buzz)

Members of theFashionSpot are not so taken with the unnecessary nudity on the cover of a fashion magazine.

“Are they serious with this for the cover? Just stupid, if I wanted topless women, i would buy GQ!!” wrote Miss Dalloway.

Fluxx suggested the cover looks marketed towards men: “If the masthead wasn’t pink, I could easily mistake this for GQ or Esquire.”

“Not sure what to think of it, because it’s not that bad, but it’s too cheap/ordinary. It would suit InStyle more — they’d know how to make it more appealing. The worst thing about this is the tattoo,” enthused Srdjan.

Honeycombchild has been contemplating canceling his subscription: “Yup. I think this is the final nail in my Elle UK coffin. I’ve been meaning to unsubscribe for ages and never getting around to it. Rita and indeed this cover makes me know it has to be done. Elle had a really great phase a few years back, I miss those days. Now it’s a bit like that annoying person, hanging around, trying to be ‘cool.'”

However, signs of positivity were evident in [Piece Of Me]‘s post: “Gorgeous! I know everyone will say that she shouldn’t be on the cover, but I definitely think she deserves to be on the cover of a British magazine. She is one of the biggest female artists in the UK at the moment. Her first three singles all hit #1 as well as her platinum selling debut album. She has just premiered her new single and has done a lot of things in fashion. DKNY campaign, a deal with Adidas and Rimmel London, one of the faces of the new M&S campaign. And like her style or not, she is seen as a style icon.”
