Porter continues to impress, having already tapped the likes of Gisele Bundchen, Lady Gaga and Lara Stone as previous cover subjects. Now onto its fifth issue, Porter‘s latest comes with Christy Turlington on the front cover. Photographed by Porter regulars Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Turlington is the epitome of effortless chic, wearing a blue denim shirt from Levi’s and a Rolex watch teamed with a pair of white gold and diamond De Grisoogono earrings.
Our forum members show mixed reactions. “Christy was never my favorite super, but she is slaying the hell out of this cover. Porter is leagues above most other magazines these days!” shares an ecstatic marsnoop2.
“She truly is a fantastic model with amazing presence. Such a fantastic cover, I have loved all of their covers, and most issues so far!” noted Miss Dalloway, who’s clearly a fan of Net-a-Porter‘s print magazine.
Kokobombon shares her enthusiasm too: “I love it! Major 80s flashback, I had to double check the thread´s title,” and went on to suggest, “It would have been better with a cleaner layout but still, the image is very striking imo.”
Also acknowledging the 80s styling was Bertrando3 who wrote, “Very 80s indeed, I love Christy, she always does amazing pictures.”
Yet not everyone was satisfied with Porter‘s latest installment. “This magazine is just pants. I’ve never wanted to buy something less,” wrote an unimpressed Kite.
Burbuja8910 was left underwhelmed also: “What have [they] done to Christy?… Horrible cover. The Porter team should have done better work.”
For the first time since its debut, Porter has created a limited-edition cover which will soon become available for purchase via its website. Check out the cover inside our thread and share your own opinion here.
