It seems like only yesterday that we saw Rihanna on the cover of i-D, but the magazine has moved swiftly on to its next installment. The British bimonthly dropped its Spring 2015 cover earlier this week, featuring Natalie Westling shot by Willy Vanderperre. Natalie, who made a splash this campaign season, scoring fashion spots for Christian Dior and Alberta Ferretti, gives us 90s grunge vibes in a camouflage jacket while pulling i-D‘s signature wink.
Forum members were quick to descend on the thread to see what i-D had to offer this time around. “Oh this is confusing, it feels like the Rihanna issue just came out. It’s not a bad cover, it’s very 90s, it works, but it looks like it’s another youth-oriented issue so I’ll probably pass once again,” commented mistress_f.
“I’ve seen this a thousand times. I knew what it was going to look like before I opened the thread,” added littlekiki.
“Who buys this anymore? I haven’t in about 4 years,” said gossiping, showing no enthusiasm whatsoever.
The rest of our forum members were left yearning for change. “That black frame [on the masthead] needs to go. Otherwise nice but I’ve seen this like a zillion times already. It almost feels like a never-ending ongoing series of portraits by Willy in different magazines,” noted Royal-Galliano.
“Weird that we all just now felt the need to comment on how old the winking portraits have gotten, but I had the same exact thought upon seeing this. It’s done, over, exhausted, I don’t even want to click on this thread anymore,” HeatherAnne later ranted.
Oxymore was quick to question, “What happened to their creative covers?”
