We are often left overwhelmed with what Vogue Korea delivers us every month. The magazine pushes its design team to its limits (even Coco Rocha backed the publication up on Instagram this week), giving us unconventional cover images and refusing to jump on the bandwagon regarding the latest cover models. Abbey Lee Kershaw graces the magazine’s April 2015 cover, photographed by Rafael Stahelin with Ye Young Kim on styling duties. But we assume that Abbey was not about to pick up those buckets of paint in the background, while wearing that chic, all-white Ralph Lauren number.
Needless to say, our forum members were impressed and began to sing Vogue Korea’s praises right away. “Beautiful! The colors add something to it,” MON complimented immediately.
“So lovely, Abbey looks incredibly gorgeous on this cover,” added TeeVanity.
Also full of enthusiasm was yesitsdagny: “This cover just reminded me why I love Abbey as a model. She is stunning, fierce and [a] completely captivating person! Amazing cover.”
“Really love the vibe of this cover. And ABBEY!!” raved cutepongki, sharing the exact same sentiments.
Benn98 felt the same way, echoing, “Omg, I’m reminded of the Abbey when she just started. This is a welcoming break from the Rag & Bone suicide blonde we’ve seen the past few years. I love the laid-back and natural vibe and colors of this shot. She actually looks feminine and season appropriate.”
“I like the way there’s a lifestyle story to the shot, but given that she’s wearing all-white, I’m guessing she wasn’t the one doing the painting,” tigerrouge laughed.
“I applaud Vogue Korea for pushing the boundaries on what a cover shot looks like. This is refreshing and modern. Abbey Lee looks stunning!” appreciated Nepenthes.
