Karl Lagerfeld may not be noted for his edgy and fashion-forward photography skills, but there’s no denying that when he gets it right, he truly does exceed expectations. Chanel‘s Fall 2015 advertising campaign dropped on our forums over the weekend and we’re overjoyed with the outcome. After Gisele Bündchen last season, we didn’t know what to expect and the team opted to revert back to the comfort of the studio and cast models Anna Ewers and Lindsey Wixson to pose in the classic setup, captured in black and white for maximum effect.
Members of our forums were shocked. “Finally a great Chanel campaign! I feel like the past few seasons have been quite lackluster and this is just gorgeous, sophisticated and impactful. Well done!” Nepenthes applauded.
“I don’t remember the last time I loved a Chanel campaign. This is beautiful, love the mood of the campaign and the styling is great!!!” raved GivenchyAddict.
Also full of appreciation was narcyza: “It’s a classic and very elegant campaign. Perfect concept for Chanel.”
Forum member gazebo was feeling it too, echoing, “I love this so much. The classical model poses are great and very elegant.”
“Amazing! Finally a perfect campaign from them after so long!! Stellar beyond words!” hailed a more than impressed MON.
“Finally a decent Chanel campaign, and finally Anna got it!! I’m glad she and Lindsey are part of this. The shots are lovely — I love that vintage vibe, can’t wait for more,” anticipated thatsfierce.
