Giampaolo Sgura Gets the Blame for Vogue Germany’s Awful August Covers (Forum Buzz)

According to our forums, Vogue Germany┬áhas been descending a very slippery slope toward mediocrity. After the mess that was Toni Garrn‘s cover last month, the title moves swiftly on to its August offering, tapping not one, but three models to pose for photographer Giampaolo Sgura. Edita Vilkeviciute, Mica Arganaraz and Constance Jablonski each go solo on the covers, battling it out in the same setting.

You can bet our forum members were less than impressed. “What’s wrong with Vogue Germany this year?” immediately questioned Oxymore.

“It seems that Sgura shot almost all the covers for this year, and it’s very depressing and sad,” burbuja8910 acknowledged.

Also underwhelmed was orchidee: “This could have looked gorgeous, but I think the lighting and the Photoshop make her look demonic. Edita is gorgeous, but Sgura is so overrated.”

As was Benn98, who ranted, “The man simply doesn’t belong at Vogue. InStyle should hostage him with an exclusivity contract because he’s way more effective for them. I can see what they went for here, but the result is so depressing. The shot isn’t cover worthy, layout is a mess, and what’s with the shoe?”

Creative wasn’t having any of it, either. “What a mess. Vogue Germany is going downhill…” he declared.

Vogue Germany needs to stop…” suggested MDNA.
