Katy Perry Underwhelms for Harper’s Bazaar September 2015 Cover

The September issue covers are rolling in and Harper’s Bazaar is kicking off the fall season with what our forum members consider a lackluster cover featuring singer Katy Perry. The magazine tapped legendary photographer Jean Paul Goude to capture the pop diva, whom Carine Roitfeld outfitted in a black dress with a sheer pleated stand-up collar from Saint Laurent’s Fall 2015 collection. The cover is giving us a bit of a 50s vibe, though our forum members, for the most part, remain unimpressed.

Steddycam91 was not pleased to see Ms. Perry on another Bazaar cover so soon. “A whopping eleven months since her last HB cover. I guess she’s willing to ride the wave of this whole ‘Bad Blood’ faux-drama…”

Benn98 had quite harsh criticism: “Already sick and tired of Katy Perry’s Chucky-like mug.”  he wrote. Blueorchid failed to be seduced by the shot. “I guess it could be worse, so whatever…” What enthusiasm!

MON was a bit more passionate about his disdain for Perry’s effort. “What on earth is that dress? What on earth is this cover??” he wrote, before expressing his boredom with the entire package. “Nothing about the cover lines excite me either… Katy, Carine, Kendall, Kylie, Sharon…”

“The cover has been seen so many times before and Katy Perry is just [past] her time,” jemina said, summing up many of the feelings towards Perry’s shot.

But even with all the negative comments, a few people found nice things to say about this latest Bazaar cover. “The close up is stunning! that lipstick looks awesome on her,” Urban Stylin gushed. At least someone liked it?
