Got to give credit where credit is due and ELLE Canada certainly deserves a congratulating pat on the back after tapping supermodel Cindy Crawford last month. The mag just dropped its November cover featuring model-of-the-moment Gigi Hadid, shot by Max Abadian. Fashion Director Juliana Schiavinatto selected a custom Mikhael Kale #GIGI top for the brand ambassador of Maybelline to wear, but the question remains: Can Instamodels ever compare to a good old-fashioned supermodel?
“The finger pointing. No. This coming after Cindy’s epic supermodel cover,” stated a disapproving A.D.C.
Sharing the same sentiments was KissMiss: “WOW! After Cindy’s cover we get this? She can be very striking, just a shame they went with such a cheap concept and look.”
Forum member Benn98 wasn’t exactly showing much enthusiasm toward the cover, either, adding, “‘Future looks bright’ indeed. That’s all there is to this cover. They’ve really gone a bit overboard with the retouching, her skin looks almost plastic-like.”
Also not having any of it was justaguy, replying: “Exactly! And I’m not diggin’ the styling either.”
“A little bit more lighting and Gigi would have been gone,” said Nymphaea.
