We have been speculating about the guest editor for Vogue Paris‘ double holiday issue after receiving a hint that ‘someone French‘ would do the honors. Names like Léa Seydoux, Marion Cotillard and Sophie Marceau fluttered about, but yesterday it was revealed to be Vanessa Paradis. In true festive and celebratory fashion, French Vogue gifts us a selection of three unique covers to choose from. Vanessa stood before the lens of Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, David Sims and Karim Sadli for the occasion, sending us into a frenzy and our forums selected their favorite fairly quickly.
“Stunning surprise, and quite appropriate too!! I really want to like the I&V cover (above), but the pose is too OTT. The Sims one (below left) is a very good way to end the year. Perhaps one of Alt’s most memorable covers yet,” praised Benn98.
“Karim Sadli’s cover (below right) is just beautiful! I’m really happy, the three covers are amazing,” added an equally as impressed Oxymore. Also showing the covers a great deal of love was justaguy: “All three covers are quite good. The Inez & Vinoodh cover is just plain sexy, Sims’ cover is just a classic and Sadli’s cover is so quirky and fun.”
Miss Dalloway agreed: “Stunning, and a perfect choice to guest edit, my favorite is the Sims one, just sublime.”
In the same frame of mind was MON, echoing, “The first two covers are pure perfection! Now this is how you end a year! Stunning covers! The first two remind me of the Vogue Paris that I used to love! Although, it took me a while to get the pose of the I&V cover.
“All three covers are fantastic: Sexy and OTT; romantic and striking; playful and charming. Vanessa is always fantastic on the cover of a magazine. This is one time I want all three covers,” announced Phuel.
