Moschino has certainly grabbed a few headlines since 2013, due to the fact that Jeremy Scott has been bringing it with the brand’s advertising campaigns. He secured Katy Perry last season and asked modeling sensation Linda Evangelista to be the face of his debut fragrance Fresh Couture. For Moschino’s just unveiled Spring 2016 offering, Scott asked beauties Lexi Boling, Maartje Verhoef, Joan Smalls and Fei Fei Sun to pose before the lens of Steven Meisel.
And the team did not disappoint. “Classic Meisel!! I love this. Love the humor and excess of it all,” commended Wolkfolk.
“YES! MEISEL! It has humor and class…even if the collection was every level of trash!” declared Lola701, pleasantly surprised.
“As usual Meisel manages to make the clothes look infinitely better than they actually are,” applauded an amazed lelaid.
Sharing the same sentiments was kewkaw, adding, “They made hideous dresses look expensive.”
Forum member thatsfierce couldn’t contain his enthusiasm. “Wow, it’s incredible how a good photographer can make a trashy collection look expensive,” he echoed.
“Love it, one of my favorite campaigns this season. Didn’t expect it after the atrocious collection,” admitted fer19dog.
Pradable agreed: “Meisel has Midas touch! That yellow awful thing was by far one of the worse things in that hideous collection but what I can see now is something diametrically different, more appealing and desirable. The cast is great, the styling is great (guess it’s Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele’s work again), makeup and hairstyle help a lot, and location design is just the icing on the cake. Plus a great photographer and you have a killer combo.”
