Our forums made no attempt to gloss over the fact that Givenchy‘s mainline campaign for Spring 2016 with 27 models (yes, seriously) failed to satisfy our needs. But thankfully, the brand makes another attempt to impress, unveiling its brand new advertising concept for its new collection of denim jeans. Shot by photographic duo Luigi & Iango in black and white, Givenchy’s Creative Director Riccardo Tisci asked Irina Shayk to go topless wearing nothing but a pair of the skin-tight jeans, while playfully posing alongside male model Chris Moore.
But members of our forums weren’t exactly jumping for joy. “Like… what is even the point of this? Who the hell buys Givenchy jeans? The campaign is such a wannabe ‘controversial’ take on a Calvin Klein Jeans campaign but with half the attitude. God this brand sucks,” laughed an appalled Marc10, about to set the tone for more comments to come.
“Feels like I’ve seen this before, last season??? It would help a lot if Irina’s face could match the sexiness of her poses,” added an equally underwhelmed Benn98.
“I’m not an Irina fan so this weak retread of last season’s campaign is a miss,” complained zoom. Ouch!
At least this is far superior to having 27 models showcasing one collection! See more of Givenchy’s latest campaign and add your own two cents here.
