Vanity Fair‘s major annual Hollywood Issue is about to disappear from newsstands worldwide, but the fashion and current affairs magazine is set to replace it with yet another must-read edition. Ushering in Jennifer Garner (who dishes on her divorce from Ben Affleck) as its March 2016 cover subject, Vanity Fair‘s latest sure got our forums chattering and deliberating. Shot by Patrick Demarchelier, the American actress and mother of three photographed beautifully wearing a striped dress with her brunette tresses styled into loose waves, while looking at ease as she poses poolside under the warm Los Angeles sunshine.
But Jennifer’s warm, friendly and welcoming smile left our forum members cold. “Wait, what? Is this 2006? And to think I thought they might do something special for a Style Issue!!” exclaimed a less than impressed Miss Dalloway the second the cover dropped.
“The cover photo is not flattering to her, she is extremely beautiful and that isn’t her best angle,” added Luxx.
Sharing the same underwhelming sentiments was mercyminx, stating, “It doesn’t look ANYTHING like her. She is such a beauty but here she looks like one of the Desperate Housewives. So disappointing.”
Forum member t-rex agreed, chiming in: “A very boring and generic cover. It looks like the cover of Parade.”
“Her face looks so strange and weird, totally ruins the whole cover,” liberty33r1b disapproved.
“I LOOOOOOVE her as an actress and she always photographs well but they picked a bad angle for her nose and the layout is bloody awful,” Bertrando3 said in utter shock.
Yet not everyone was so completely dissatisfied. “I think this is a beautiful image. Yes, awful layout and texts, but the photo stands out. I love the smile and summerish colours,” approved a delighted Srdjan.
“Such a beautiful smile! Always welcome to see her shine on a cover,” justaguy welcomed in appreciation.
