The house of Christian Dior continues to milk its contract with Jennifer Lawrence, having unveiled ads with the actress fronting its cosmetics range and a brand new set of images for its newest handbag collection. Is it too much, though? J.Law’s last accessories campaign for the iconic French brand fell flat and the new Spring 2016 edition isn’t exactly blowing us away, either. Switching things up ever so slightly, Mario Sorrenti plays the role of photographer, capturing Jennifer looking effortless while posing around a chic apartment.
Surprisingly, the handbags ended up being the main topic of discussion on our forums. “Too much Photoshop on the bags, also her face is super red, super amateur for my taste and for a house like Dior,” pointed out an underwhelmed madzedre straight away.
“The bags almost look like CGI because of the Photoshop. It’s especially jarring against the natural styling,” echoed Edie123.
Also not taking an interest toward the bags was Cosmic Voices, adding, “The bags look hideous OMG.”
Nymphaea was quick to voice the same concern: “It’s funny, Jennifer looks very casual chic but the bags are the opposite, very in your face. Don’t like the bags at all.”
“I find most of the images unbelievable, which is harsh, given that she is a pretty good actress,” expressed an equally disappointed Street_a_Licious.
Sharing the same attitude toward the campaign was Creative: “She looks horrible here. I don’t get why they said yes to this.”
“She looks so old here. And it’s so lifeless,” shared narcyza.
