Our forums have always been huge supporters of Porter, ever since it debuted on newsstands worldwide back in 2014. We were also pretty content flipping through our copies of the Spring 2016 issue with Amber Valletta on the cover (even though we weren’t overly fond of the actual shot), until Porter released the cover for its upcoming edition, getting us in full anticipation mode. Following in the footsteps of Natalia Vodianova, Christy Turlington Burns and Cate Blanchett is Jessica Chastain, who takes to the cover for Summer 2016. Photographed by Ryan McGinley, the actress cuddles a cute baby kangaroo (who almost upstages her) as she gazes down McGinley’s lens, looking effortless and dreamy in Gucci.
Forum members were left in awe. “Oh this is gorgeous!” MON enthused immediately.
“Her bone structure just photographs beautifully and that kangaroo, too cute. Not my favourite Porter cover by far but I do really appreciate it,” threw in honeycombchild.
“This is simply sublime, and a great cover choice(s),” added Miss Dalloway.
Also quick to show the cover some love was kokobombon: “Something different from them, I like it. That baby kangaroo is slaying the pose, the expression in the eyes!”
In agreement over how terrific the cover turned out was Handbag Queen: “Gorgeous! Love the kanga, too!!”
Srdjan was also full of praise. “Their best cover yet! Everything goes so well here, from the violet backdrop complementing Jessica’s hair to the outfit she’s wearing. I love how Porter magazine is always appreciative about nature and this cover totally shows it even if it was shot in a studio,” he applauded.
“Love it… It’s always nice to see something considered and creative in this era of endless fashion rag boredom,” noted Fiercification.
