Even Doutzen Kroes Can’t Save the Terrible Styling on This Vogue Spain Cover (Forum Buzz)

We love to give credit where it is due and there’s no getting away from the fact that Vogue Spain kickstarted 2016 with a bang, delivering stellar covers one after the other. Yet the magazine has entered a rough patch over the past few months, hitting rock bottom with a Kendall Jenner cover last month. Now, Spanish Vogue moves on to its November 2016 issue with “real model” Doutzen Kroes. Captured by Benny Horne, the Dutch beauty wears a sports-inspirited Louis Vuitton jacket in the dynamic and unconventional cover shot where she appears to be trying to tell us something.

For the most part, our forum members don’t want to hear it. “Wonderful to see Doutzen, but for crying out loud that is the last thing I want to see someone wearing on the cover of Vogue!” Miss Dalloway cried out the moment the cover dropped.

“Yikes,” shirked a startled MON.

“Looks like a football supporter dressed for bad weather,” laughed a far from impressed tigerrogue.

In agreement over how bad the cover looked and not unwilling to accept it was Sweet rus, voicing, “What a waste of Doutzen! This cover looks like the most unfortunate outtake from the shoot.”

However, Vogue Spain’s latest didn’t leave everyone so appalled. “Love the colors and her energy, and actually, the windbreaker. My only gripe is the lack of actual styling. She looks very pedestrian here,” said Benn98.

“The freshness of the cover is stunning and it’s always great to see Doutzen, but I don’t like the styling that much,” pointed out Nymphaea, echoing the same sentiments.

Happycanadian was just thrilled to have Doutzen on the cover too: “Happy to see Doutzen land another Vogue cover. And she looks gorgeous (but, I mean, literally I don’t think it’s possible to take a photo of her where she doesn’t…). With that being said, I’m not exactly loving the cover itself.”

“I like Doutzen and the energy of the cover but the styling and layout is quite a mess, IMO. Still, that smile compensates for everything,” kokobombon reasoned.

The cover certainly could’ve been better, don’t you agree? See the fashion editorials from the issue and join the conversation here.
