Steven Meisel Photographs Five Different Models (Including Irina Shayk) for Alberta Ferretti’s Spring 2017 Campaign

The new year and new season is just around the corner and Alberta Ferretti has wasted no time unveiling its advertising campaign for Spring 2017. Out is Kate Moss and photographic duo Luigi & Iango in favor of legendary lensman Steven Meisel who was commissioned to capture five individual and unique portraits of models Julia Nobis, Raquel Zimmermann, Vittoria Ceretti, Carolyn Murphy and Irina Shayk, each styled by fashion icon Carine Roitfeld.

Considering the team involved, our forum members felt a little let down. “Wow, what a random campaign. What’s the direction?” questioned a dumbfounded MON.

“Everything around this seems perfect: great photographer, great cast and for the moment, great pictures. But it doesn’t work with the brand. I associate Ferretti with glamour but not this kind.

It’s weird,” Lola701 chimed in.

MyNameIs also wasn’t impressed, echoing, “Are we sure these all came from the same campaign? Looks like a random assortment of editorial images. Vittoria’s shot is OK. Raquel’s shot is beyond bland. Julia’s is very cheap and amateur. The cast sounded promising but the result is a disaster.”

Forum members soon began to select their favorites. “I love Meisel for Ferretti. Vittoria’s shot is stunning and Raquel’s reminds me of a Vogue Italia editorial. I dislike Julia and I HATE Meisel for always using her. Like really, what in God’s name does he see in her? She ruins everything,” complained anlabe32.

“I don’t see how this is one campaign but I do like the shots of Irina and Julia. And those two are far from being favorite models of mine,” admitted June.

“Irina’s shot is amazing, I like the whole campaign, but hers is probably my favorite along with Vittoria and Raquel,” wrote Zelda Zonk.
