Vittoria Ceretti Steals the Spotlight From Natalie Westling in Chanel’s Pre-Fall Ad Campaign

Chanel is still rolling out its Gabrielle handbag ads and now unveils a whole new campaign for the brand’s Métiers d’Art collection, which was showcased at The Ritz in Paris back in December. There are no signs of the ornate and luxurious surroundings of The Ritz in the campaign, with Karl Lagerfeld opting to use his photographic studio and a plain gray background instead. Models Vittoria Ceretti and Natalie Westling joining forces for the images styled by Lagerfeld-favorite Carine Roitfeld.

Our forum members were quick to sound off on the new campaign. “Literally all the money in the world (of fashion) and Karl shoots them in front of a gray wall. Awesome,” voiced an underwhelmed Street_a_Licious.

Lola701 felt the same way. “Chanel IMO should maybe more being literal with the set. The collection was all about The Ritz, so why not shoot this in The Ritz? It would have been perfect. Maybe just at the Place Vendome just in front of the hotel. But this is the case for everything Chanel. The campaigns are rarely as impactful as the shows,” she stated.

“Feels like a catalog but very fresh, and Vittoria Ceretti totally takes all the spotlight,” added forum member chanelh.

Sharing the same sentiments was Zposen. “It is rather plain… though Vittoria looks stunning. She is the star of the campaign!”

Simon agreed, echoing, “Vittoria delivered! She looks magnetic. Captivating beauty. Can’t say the same for Natalie. She’s grown on me, but she literally looks like a background here.”

“Not really enjoying either of them in these pictures,” shared TREVOFASHIONISTO.

“A hobby photographer wants to expand his portfolio on his cheesy website. He places a request on Facebook, asking if anyone is interested in having their photo taken for free. Vittoria and Natalie are the only ones responding. I hate it,” slammed a horrified anlabe32.
